How it works
- A consonant followed by a forms the full letter: ka = क, kaa = का, ki = कि.
- Two consonants together make a conjunct: namaste = नमस्ते, garnu = गर्नु.
- Capitals give retroflex letters and long vowels: T = ट, D = ड, N = ण, A = आ, I = ई.
- M = ं, ~ = ँ, H = ः, \ = ्, and . = ।
- Keep English with {English} or switch modes with Ctrl + Space.
- Copy the result into Facebook, email, Word or anywhere that supports Unicode.

Frequently asked questions
How do suggestions work?
While you type a word, likely Nepali spellings appear. Space takes the first one, ↑ ↓ choose another, Esc keeps the English word, and Backspace right after a converted word brings the suggestions back. Casual spelling such as kathmandu, aauxu or garxu works too.
Is this translation?
No. It is transliteration: what you spell with English letters is written in Nepali script. Typing ‘mero ghar’ gives ‘मेरो घर’, not ‘my house’.
How do I add a halant at the end of a word?
Type \ after the word: raam\ = राम्.
How do I keep an English word?
Put it inside curly braces like {Google}, or press Ctrl + Space to switch to English mode.
Is my text stored anywhere?
Your text is only autosaved in your own browser. For suggestions, each word you type is sent to the Miti Sathi server and, if “Also use Google suggestions” is on, to Google Input Tools; the full text is never uploaded.
